The Tulsa Zoo

The Tulsa zoo is an 85-acre showcase of various animals and wildlife. The zoo is located within Mohawk Park, one of the largest municipally owned parks within the United States. The Zoo has a 2.5 acre enclosure called the Valley of the Elephant, a Chimpanzee habitat, a Sea Lion Cove, and more. The Zoo also provides conservation efforts involving fish, reptiles, birds, and other rare animal species.

Tulsa Deco District

Tulsa is home to some of the best architectural examples of art deco, and it's celebrated within a specific area of Tulsa's downtown known as the Deco District. The district is comprised of aptly decorated buildings such as The Tulsa Performing Arts Center, The Philtower Building, Urban Parks, and numerous lunch spots. Each location is celebrated as a work of art and are considered tourist hotspots.

The Gathering Place

Located right on the massive Arkansas River, the Gathering Place is a recreational hub for residents of all over the region. The park covers roughly 100 acres of land open to the public, and contains the Chapman Adventure Playground, Williams Lodge, boathouse, and splash playground. Even athletes are welcome, with a skatepark, sports courts and regular special events.

Woodward Park

Woodward Park has long-since served as Tulsa's horticultural center. The park has several uses, including a botanical garden, a teaching garden, an arboretum, and so much more. The Garden Center located within the park offers lectures, classes, special events, and plant shows, many of which are free for members. The Snedden Mansion is located within the park, which is open to the public for tours and special events.

Safari Joe's H20 Waterpark

Recently remodeled, Safari Joe's H20 waterpark is a Tulsa's own massive amusement park with a ton of different water attractions for the whole family. From massive slides to easy-going splash zones, Safari Joe's is guaranteed summer fun for people of all ages. The park also has animal attractions, a playground, and even a wildlife sanctuary.

Tulsa Children's Museum

Just outside of Downtown Tulsa, the Tulsa Children's Museum and Discovery Lab offers interactive activities for children and their families. The museum offers a way for everyone to discover more about many different areas of arts and sciences, and provides a range of different opportunities for a hands-on experience.

Turkey Mountain Urban Wilderness Area

Looking for an escape without having to go too far from civilization? The Turkey Mountain Urban Wilderness area is an undeveloped outside area that is located on the west bank of the Arkansas River. The park spans over 300 acres and is managed by the Tulsa River Parks Authority. The park has trails, small riverbeds, dense forests, and plenty of space to just sit and relax away from city life.
