Audi Oklahoma City - 2022 Audi Q4 e-tron

Audi is preparing to unveil the 2022 Q4 e-tron in April of this year. The excitement continues to grow as more details trickle out about this new compact electric SUV. One of the most anticipated features is the augmented-reality heads-up display that includes a flying arrow to assist drivers with navigation. And while the only test vehicles have been camouflaged, the exterior appears to be very close to the concept vehicle released in 2019. That vehicle was constructed on the MEB platform used for the 2021 Volkswagen ID.4. But the crucial difference between these two German creations is that the Q4 will hold the coveted spot as the authentic luxury version in class.

Under the Hood

The Q4 e-tron offers about 300 horsepower with an electric motor powering each axle on the all-wheel-drive. The 6.3 second time for zero to 60 is better than other compact luxury crossovers in the class. And with adaptive suspension, the ride is always smooth and relaxing. The 82.0kWh battery pack is expected to offer a range of 280 miles. It supports 125-kW charging claimed to reach 80% capacity in about 30 minutes of charge time.

On The Inside

Technology is at the forefront of this compact SUV. From the 10.1-inch touchscreen display to the 11.6-inch upgrade, it is all about having the information you want and need close to your natural line of sight. The feeling of the driver's seat is more of a cockpit by design. But for those who still enjoy the feel of a few old-school touches, there are physical buttons to operate the more mundane features like climate control. It is then back to cutting-edge tech and design as the gear shift, drive mode, and media controls are located in a floating center console with valuable storage space beneath.

Sustainable Finishes

The environmentally conscious focus carries into the cabin with the use of sustainable interior finishes. The use of faux leather and Dinamica microfiber is one of the most noticeable choices. This material looks and feels like suede. But it is comprised of 45% recycled textiles and plastic bottles to be more mindful of the planet while still living up to the expectations of Audi owners.

Cargo Capacity

The Q4 e-tron offers over 18 cubic feet of cargo space when configured to seat four passengers. However, when the rear seats are folded down, that space morphs to over 52 cubic feet to put it on par with the area offered by the Q5. The closest competition for the Q4 is the Volvo XC40, which is over 6 inches shorter and has over 5 inches less cargo space than the Q4 e-tron.

The Warranty

Audi offers the standard four-year or 50k mileage powertrain and limited warranty on the Q4. The electric components are covered for eight years or 100k miles, and the complimentary maintenance extends for one year or 10k miles.
